This is a quick Birthday card for my colleague in Atlanta, Mr. Bryan Mon.
Bryan is one of those scary talented guys that apparently has equal and simultaneous access to both sides of his brain.
He also takes it upon himself to perpetually craft a birthday card and poem for just about everybody in the Creative Dept.
I thought I'd return the favor just once.

Old Buddy Bear

These roughs are for some fabric softener box concepts I did over the weekend. Nothing ground shattering here but God help me, I just still love drawing this character after all these years.

Pushing Paint

Here are the results of last week's Alla Prima class. It's maddening how you can struggle so much on some things and others come without much effort. In this case, I spent most of the three hour class noodling the torso and then I proceeded to paint the entire head in about two minutes.....nutty!
I almost forgot how enjoyable traditional oil painting can be. The tactile nature of it, the smell of the paint, the "on the fly" problem solving, and the lack of an "undo" command are very satisfying in ways that digital art can never be.

Dolphin Deux Duex

So the first concept went over like a Humvee at a Green Peace Rally.
Second approach.

This is for my friend Tami's upcoming family reunion. She has an immense family. Every time they do this, they pick a theme. This year was "Bellisimo!". (Bell is the family name in case you haven't guessed yet.) I needed an excuse to do a vintage poster project anyway, so I came up with this image.
