Back in 2009, I did this Keynote presentation for Disney Interactive in an effort to get hired there as a Creative Director. The Lone Ranger hadn't even been filmed yet. In fact, all I knew is that Johnny Depp was signed on to play Tonto. They asked me to visualize how I would set up a Web Portal to promote the movie as a franchise and suggest some game and product ideas. I envisioned using 3D elements throughout as a novelty and even provided some 3D glasses to my interviewers to show how it would look on screen. Below was my presentation. I had to knock this out in like a week (for free by the way). The fact that I had zero Interactive or Web based design experience hardly phased me. I think it was a decent effort all things considered, but at the end of the day, my inexperience in this area doomed me...I had to ask what "UI" stood for in an interview...that'll do it, I guess. As you may recall, the movie didn't exactly warrant a franchise.
I enjoyed the challenge though. Everything is a learning experience.
