Simon Book Cover

My old friend Michael Mullin is sort of a brilliant guy. He talks really fast because his giant brain grinds out information way faster than his comparatively lethargic lips are willing to express it all. Anyway, he wrote this YA novel entitled "Simon" which is, of course a brilliant retelling of a little known screed called "Hamlet" by some other guy...and Mike called on me to help him develop the cover art. Todd Spenceman, who coincidentally is also fairly sharp, collaborated on this as well. The top image is where we ended up. The ones below were earlier iterations. I am imploring all of the readers of my blog to go out right now (yes, both of you!) and buy it for the cover art and maybe give it a read too.

Shanghai Project

Last year I was hired to design and QC the sculpts for these fixtures for a recently opened Disney Store in China. It's now installed and looks really good. Personally, I miss the old Disney Store designs that incorporated 3D characters...this store design is a nice hybrid.
